removing the resinator
I heard removing the resinator makes ur car sound nicer. Is this the case, and if so, does it screw up anything electronic/etc. And also, my dad says that ur not allowed to just take it off for inspection reasons. I wanna prove him wrong, so does anyone know the law in Pa dealing with resinator removal???

Hey pontiactrac,
The stock resonator has nothing to do with emissions and you can take it out and replace it with straight pipe. If your keeping the stock mufflers removing it will not make much of a difference at all. It may be a little dronier in the cabin but barely noticeable overall. If your going to do it you might as well get the piping from after the cat to the Y split replaced with 2.5 inch pipe. Make sure the "u-bend" behind the cat is removed as it is worth at least 4hp. |
