Question 87 Vandura 305 5.L Question

This seems like a great place to ask a question.

I was driving to work last night and jumped on the expressway.I noticed my temp gauge was rising past the normal position. It almost maxed out so i was about to take the next cutoff and it all of a sudden started to go down all the way to normal again and stayed that way the rest of the way to work. The engine was running fine the whole time.Let me add that i have a brand new rad in it as well.

I would really appreciate any help you guys can offer,

Thanks Alot Brad
