I also had a "little discussion" with the local dealer, and the Isuzu folks at the "complaint Dept" I believe in Colorado. They refuse to do anything. They say if I cannot provide proof that I changed the oil every 3,000 miles, They cannot help me. I did indeed keep the oil changed on a regular basis, but more like every 4,000 to 4,500 miles. However, I didn't feel I needed to keep all of my receipts. My attorney and I are discussing our options. #1 file a class action civil suit. This will be a massive search for all people that have had, or are currently having, the same problem I did (massive oil consumption), and pull them all together to sue Isuzu. #2 just go to small claims court to try to prove the 2000 3.5 litre engine was manufactured with defective Pistons, rings, cylinders and oil ports. We'll see. TRUST ME. I will not give up the fight. I work as an administrator at a county prison, and have had 15-20 attorney's tell me they are willing to help anyway they can. I also have two county judges as friends that are interested in this. Just a matter of time. |

Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?
Year: 1999 Trooper S
Engine: 3.5L Mileage: 73k Any major problems: Bought it used but untitled in 2000 with only 8k miles on it. Ex was hit pretty hard on the driverside front by a drunkard in 2002. $13k worth of damage and the insurance still didn't total it so I kept it. Fought with the repair shop to get everything just right until I deployed to Bosnia in 2003. Still pulls to the left when you let go of the wheel and the hood is misaligned so that the hood sensor isn't activated unless you jam something in there(currently a small ball of duct tape) and the rear door on that side won't open sometimes because the lock won't pop up all the way(didn't open for over two years, then one day I just pulled up on the lock and bingo, I have a 4door truck again It sat under pine tree's for almost three years so you can imagine the paint. The windshield is cracked on the top corner on the drivers side, from the inside!! How'd that happen?? I think its starting to burn oil, or either i just noticed it and I just had to top off the brake fluid. I'm glad I got it here, it needs some TLC and hopefully I can give what it needs, I really do like the thing!! |
