McLaren at Shelton again

Hi, someone emailed me that the silver McLaren at Shelton is back again. Anyone know who it belongs to?

I read a Robb Report article a very long time ago (1995?) that mentioned a famous retired jockey who had two. I think he was in Florida too. Could it be this same person?

His name is Gerd Petrik, here is the article you were looking for http://www.departures.com/wg/wg_1100...itioncars.html . He *USED* to own 045 and 067 (now in Musk's posession). hope that clears it up.

No, it doesn't. Gerd Petrik is supposed to have sold both of his cars. One to Elon Musk in California, the other to Lawrence Stroll, in Canada.

Two cars, three locations. Obviously, something is amiss.

Can you confirm that the car in the showroom is Petriks? i wasn't aware that he owned 3. If so, its new to me, if not then i guess it remains a mystery. Does anyone have any close up pics of this car?

No, that's what I am asking others to confirm or clarify.

I had only read that he had one--in the Departures magazine article. Others here said he had two. Both were supposedly sold to parties out of Florida.

So where did this one come from? Who owns it? Noone seems to know.

The car isn't Petriks - that we can be sure of. I think mini_magic was implying that the article you read in the DuPont Registry may have been about Petrik. He's the only person in Florida that I've ever heard of owning two F1s.

I think the car in the Shelton showroom is Elon Musks - in fact, his car has been seen wearing Florida plates before - probably because registering it in California would cost him a fortune.

Now - I have no proof that is his car, but that is my guess. I haven't followed up on one possible lead for finding out the exact owner of the car in question, so I'll do that now.

I only know of a dark metallic grey F1 in Canada. Where did you see this car? I'm guessing you didn't get a photo since you probably would have posted it. yes/no

McLaren at Shelton

I'm in Boca Raton right now, about 15 minutes from Shelton, so I will go check it on out this weekend and bring back some pics if it is there, btw, my bro in Sarasota tells me there is a Silver McLaren that he saw sitting in the parking lot of coastal motorsports this week. Right near I-75 on Floridas Gulf Coast. Does anyone know of a silver McLaren other than the one in Lauderdale here in florida? Can it be the same car?

Hi, Peloton25 . i didn't have a camera yesterday. i saw this car from the second floor of a coffee shop. it passed by very quickly, but i am very sure it was a McLaren. i didn't have a chance to see its plate, so not sure wether it was from the U.S or Canada.

thats interesting. looking at their site it says they specialize in exotic car repairs etc. it could be the shelton car or someone has crashed a mclaren or there is a new one in the us...
