It comes up on Ebay from time to time. It doesn't claim any affiliation with the F1 road car, but this is still a pretty nice looking watch. I'd assume the real one might have a small "F1" logo on the face and carry the chassis number somewhere on it as well.

You can click the photo to see the auction page.

I'll go way out on a limb here and guess that chassis #007 is getting a makeover. Can you elaborate on the changes planned, or do you prefer to share as things progress? Is the factory doing this work for you?

Also, that picture is actually a great addition to the collection. I always knew there was a VIN plate embeded somewhere in the carbon floor of one of the passenger footwells, but had never seen exactly where it was located. Nifty!

P.S.: I spy an extra set of dashboard vents there too.
What do you mean by extra set of dashboard vents?

You may not have realized it, but we've covered an enormous amount of ground in the 6 years since I made that post you have quoted.

The original F1s had just two vents mounted in the outboard position under the dash. Here's an example of #007's original interior.

Borrowing one of lswf1 photos of chassis #018 you can see the difference with the two additional vent openings under the dash. Quite a few F1s have received this upgrade.

#18 looks strange inside. Cheap radio in the wrong place and floor mat doesn't fit. What company has done that?

2 extra dash vents do not make it better. AC system remains the same. Windscreen is misty exactly at the time when you need to go. At the same time heating is not a problem at all. Unfortunately extra heat couldn't be shared, or sold.

Re: F1 Owner on board

I will wonder until the day I die how fast the Mclaren would go if it was turbo'ed. Would you ever consider twin-turboing an F1 and being the first person to do so? I'm sure the car would be capable of reaching 300+ MPH. Or is that too batshit insane? I know the car is NOT meant for top speed but I cannot help but wonder.....

Re: F1 Owner on board

Not sure if Frank reads the board any longer, but I can tell you he has since parted ways with the F1s he owned.

As for your hypothetical, if there is one thing the F1 doesn't need it is more power. It already has traction issues and can accelerate to the rev limiter in top gear, so slapping some turbochargers on it is not going to provide the results you are looking for without a major re-engineering of many other components on the car. At that point you are going to start to severely diminish its value and someone would have to be truly mad to try and take things that far. My .02¢ anyway.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO and again NO any turbos.
Around than 1150kg LM even less and GTR even more less, over 627-668hv.
Where the **** we need turbos?
This is F1, the way the car has been desinged; never needed any extra power.
And besides; that BMW V12 is one of the best natural aspirated V12 ever made, or perhaps the best.

Would you ever consider putting breast implants to Gisele Bundchen's perfect body?

PS: And why "just" 2 turbos? Why not seven?

Re: F1 Owner on board

It appears Mr. Selldorff is now (or has been?--not sure, I just found out yesterday) racing a Porsche Cup car in Porsche Club Racing. This weekend the series is at Watkins Glen.

Best of luck to him.
