A/C compressor

Hey, the A/C compressor in my car is shot, and has been for at least the 2 and a half years i've owned it. I'm getting sick of not having A/C, so what are the odds of finding a good used compressor for a good deal? Hopefully it's the only thing that's broken right now, i think it holds refridgerant(but haven't tested to see), and it has been converted to R134A.

Re: A/C compressor

Since I read that you were getting rid of the car, I would say go to the junkyard and get one. It should last more than long enough. I wouldn't pay a lot for one though, since you don't know how long it will last and have no warranty.
Just don't get the refrigerant with the "stop leak" in it...

Re: A/C compressor

I would say before you do that to leak test the system so you know if you need more.

How did the pump go noise? Low charge etc. You may be looking at a new condesor if its full of junk and replacing the orifice tube. and you will want new decacent when you open up the system
