Need Help Finding A Driveshaft!!!
I have a '89 with the 4.9/300 and the mazda/zoygo trans. The rear driveshaft is shot. I live in Wisconsin and can not find a driveshaft ANYWHERE and it's driving me insane!! I can have one made for almost 300 but thats about 200 more than i'm willing to spend...does anybody know a website/junkyard/anything where i could possibly get one? I'd really appreciate it!

Re: Need Help Finding A Driveshaft!!!
Check http://www.ebay.com/ The junk yards around here have a teletype and it is connected to various junk yards. You can try this. Some people go to a junk yard and buy one the correct length appx the same diameter. Then they change the yokes so the splines match. I had a shop at one time and have found even the bearings swapped so they would work sometimes I had to buy two U-joints to do the job. Some customers saved the extras and brought them in. I also have to take the old joint to the parts store and match them up.
The vehicles worked fine it was extra trouble finding parts. These are just fixes I have found for your type of problem. |
