AIrbrush or rattle can! Part duex (2)
Ok well, this is a battle that has pleged modelers for years (not really) but anyways. I tend to use rattle cans all the time but am leaning towards a airbrush. Good deals on ebay PLus i think its time to move on up. Plus cans get expensive after while of testors cans. Buy, do you have to use a certian paint? Or do you just use like bottle paint and thin it out a bit? ALSO what are good brands of airbrushes? I have a piece of crap TESTORS and I heard that Badger is pretty good. Anyone that has an airbrush, tell me what kind you have, what it cost, ease of use and quality.
Thanks a lot Josh |

I use one of the POS Testors cheap-o airbrushes that come bundled with a can of propellant. So far, it has been no trouble and has suited me well. I might not trust it to do and complicated fades or camo detailing, though.
You can pretty much put any kind of paint you want through an airbrush, but make sure you have plenty of whatever you need to clean it well. I use acrylics, so I can clean up with water and a 50¢ toothbrush. If you use enamel, but a jug of enamel thinner, or something just as effective. Just be careful, because the quickest way to ruin an airbrush is not clean it well enough. |
