Re: 1995 Blown head gasket
Yep, I remember when I had it at 110. I felt like it could do 150 with no problems. Crisp lane changes, no shaking, very loud on the inside but that was normal for those escorts.

Re: 1995 Blown head gasket
The parts cost to do each of the F4EAT rebuilds for me was a little over $500 per: Which included the master rebuild kit with the 2-4 band, the TSB for the oil pump relief valve spring, the 'shift kit' (which I recommend), and a rebuilt torque converter. I got each of them (three sets of all parts) from different U.S. Based transmission parts suppliers; all of which I found doing a google search. One was on Long Island NY, one was nearby where I was in south TX, one was in southern CA. I -think- all of the parts were made in the U.S.A, but I didnt go looking for labels.

If I had an automatic trans, I'd probably want to mail it to you.

Re: 1995 Blown head gasket
Intuit: Sorry I wouldnt be able to help: Not only because I am a self-centered Scrooge, but because my kids and in-laws already have a line of 'Cars With Problems' waiting for me in my driveway.
I installed a toilet/sink/shower in the laundry room of my house. That was a lot more work than rebuilding an F4EAT. |

Re: 1995 Blown head gasket
hehehe. Sounds like the scrooge trait runs in the family.
Now you can look forward to plumbing and bathroom redoing calls as well. |
