1972 chevelle engine question-please help
will a 430 engine out of a 1967 buick wildcat fit into a 72 chevelle properly, if not what needs to be done for it to work

The transmission bolt pattern is different. The clamshell (engine mount) positions may be different.

The frames are the same. You need the Buick engine frame mounts and trans.

And I thought that MY conversion was a little out there. A Buick in the '72 Chevelle engine bay is even more odd than the '72 I'm finishing up:
It must be getting close, since I'm running out of parts. I'm on the second reprogram after some data logging, and she's just about out the door. That Buick is going to be a bit of a challenge. You'll have to extend the distributor wiring for the front-mount dizzy, you may have to extend the starter wiring, and the oil pan could be interesting. At least you won't have to wire in a computer system. |
