O.k. first your going to have to specify which generation of tercel you have. Was it built between 1980 and 1987? those where the first two generations, they do not have transversely mounted engines, so such a conversion wuld be "impossible"

you can put 5e-e engine from paseo, or 4age from corolla, some people were able to put an mr-2 engine on a tercel, but i can't remember where i read that...

I'm saving the $$$ to get a 3SGTE from a Caldina wagon, 260hp, and the wagon engine prolly won't be dogged. see y'all on the higher side of 11's By the way, there'll be way more mods needed to hold the extra weight and power

Unfortunately, there isn't a single other car with a transmission like that of the 1980-1987 Tercel's. But, because the engine is mounted longitudinally, like in a RWD car, I've wondered if other engines from Toyota's RWD models could be squeezed into the engine bay. They'd have to be pretty short, the length of the Tercel engine is 21 inches and I'm not too familiar with Toyota's (other than the first generation Tercel) so I don't know what would fit.
