Engine Runs Rough after Cleaning

And I thought a clean engine would be just great. Anyhow, I've cleaned an engine before. I didn't cover anything but didn't really have any spray directed at the distributor or air intake. Ran the car after cleaning and wiped it down. No problem. I go to start the car two days later and the idle is very rough and the engine bogs down on acceleration. The car starts with no problem.

I added some fuel injector cleaner and replace the distributor cap/rotor just for a shot. I found no evidence of water in the cap.

Car still runs rough almost like it's missing a cylinder. Any ideas?

Smile Re: Engine Runs Rough after Cleaning

Update: Problem solved. Hopefully this will save anyone else with a similar problem after cleaning the engine bay. First thing I checked was for water in the cap and rotor. None found but I replaced them anyhow without solving the problem.

Turns out water had gotten under the spark plug boots. They look like they might seal the top of the engine and 3 out of 4 did. That last one was a killer. I dried it out as well as the plug and all was well. For good measure I went ahead and replaced the plugs and wires. Problem solved.
