Locked Door
The right rear door on my 2006 X5 will not open from either inside or outside. The button does goes up and down when you lock and unlock the vehicle. It feels like the inside handle is not connecting to anything. Any ideas?

Re: Locked Door
First question, has anybody done any work on that door when the cables were not hooked back up. If not, replace the door lock actuator.

Re: Locked Door
No work has been done on the door. My passanger got into the car and it was ok. After our trip, he could not get out. What does the acruator do? The inside handle feels like nothing is connected to it. Can a cable pop loose? Thanks!

Re: Locked Door
The door lock actuator the the motor that unlocks the door. It is possible that the cable came off but the most likely cause is the door lock actuator. Ex. you pull the inside or outside door handle and nothing happens because something internal in the actuator is not unlocking the doors. The only way to find out for sure is to remove the door panel and have a look.
