Re: torque specs... help

What year/make/model/engine/etc.... Different years and makes have been known to have different specifications. You did mean torque specs, not engine torque output, right?

Tighten the camshaft holder bolts for 1984-91 to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm). For 1992-95 engines tighten to the following specifications:

8mm bolts:

D16Z6, D15Z1 engines: 14 ft. lbs. (20 Nm)

D15B7, D15B8 engines: 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm)

6mm bolts:

All engines: 9 ft. lbs. (12 Nm)

i dont know what everyone else is saying up there, but, this is correct. sequence is:

9 5 1 3 7
8 4 2 6 10

as for specific years someone was refering to up there. the b18c5, b16, b18a/b, and b18c5 all have the same specs.

the crankshaft and camgears need to be at TDC with the belt on. to properly tension, rotate the camgears three teeths apart then tighten the tensioner. the belt tension between the two camgears should be tight. the tension between the ctankshaft and exhaust camgear should be no more than an 1 inch deflection.

I'd say your cam caps are over tightened, bad.
