Re: B20 Crank ?

84mm + Boost = bad combination. You need to dcide either boost or N/A. If you want 84mm and boost you will be spending some money on sleeves.

I'll have to look into it when I see my friend this week, but I know him and the guy who owns his house said something about knowing someone who just got a dyno, I believe it was somewhere near Rochester if I'm not mistaken. Or if you can wait till the end of summer the guy who owns my friends house (he's renting from I mean) is getting a 4wd dyno out here near Syracuse. This is supposed to happen, but I'm not positive exactly when. He was supposed to get it beginning of this past summer but is working on renovating his house and paying for parts for his EVO8. But I'll definently check on that other one that's up and running for you if you want me to.

Re: B20 Crank ?

Ok I looked around a little and found a post on a message board saying that this place: http://www.apgmotorsports.com/ is probably going to get a AWD dyno sometime in the spring. Your profile says Schenectady, so you're not far away from them, in Albany. This may have been what the guy I know was talking about. I get so damn confused with understanding people when they tell me something to do with Albany, Rochester, and Buffalo for some reason.

Re: B20 Crank ?

you can run 84mm on a turbo motor. but just keep in mind that the larger you bore the weaker hte sleevers come so less hp it will handle.

NA bores usually go up to 86mm bore

Re: B20 Crank ?

holy crap thanks for the sweet website CivicSpoon . Hopefully they get a dyno. I was thinking about opening a shop around here because my friends say they need a dyno place and I love cars.

On stock sleeves I would go no further than 6psi maybe 8psi and that would be too risky for my liking.

And running 86mm on stock sleeves is just asking for a cracked or broken cylinder wall. I would not go above 84.5-85mm on stock sleeves, after 85mm they get rather thin and weak, you will need some aftermarket sleeves. If it was a B16A maybe you could be alright but the B18A/B/C's all have a r/s of 1.54 for B18A/B and 1.58 for the B18C family, that is just too low of a r/s to run 86mm stock sleeves.
