true VRIC, I was just making abstraction of the contest idea , but au fond you're right.

Re: Le Mans contest
I also think we should keep it Le Mans models only. And that the contest should finish up at the start of the race next year. And I don't even think it should be broken up into classes at all... Opening it up to other race series would make it, I don't know, not a Le Mans contest? But then, I wouldn't mind seeing some killer JGTC or DTM models.
Edit - Also interested.

Re: Le Mans contest
ok.. LONG deadline, but it's better than a short one
I will have the choice to present my Porsche GT3 or my Ferrari 360 (or even a Mclaren F1 !!)

C'mon guys...If we leave it open until June 2005, I'll have multiple entries for multiple categories and end up winning multiple prizes (*oh please, oh please...make it a $3.00 wire detailing kit!!!)...;-)>
Seriously, I know we all like long deadlines, but I'm thinking 4 month or .25 of a full year is long enough. Also what are the benefits of making it simply a LM contest? Won't this actually EXCLUDE some modelers who can't/wont/don't build Le Sarthe cars, but do build other sports car racers????? Of course this is just one idiot's opinion ;-)> Bill |

Re: Le Mans contest
The main idea was Le Mans contest. Just stick with this idea. There is so many car that raced to Le Mans, if someone don't want to built one of this kit, then send your kit to an other contest. We always exclude peoples on a theme contest

Re: Le Mans contest
Le Mans runs enough variety of cars that I think pretty much anybody who popped on this thread could come up with one. If I want to enter my JGTC stuff in a contest, then it would be in a general RACE CAR or JGTC contest, etc. Let's leave it as LM only.
$3 wire? SWEEET!!!! Never have enough of that stuff laying around... |

Re: Le Mans contest
I agree we should stick to Le Mans... you could build anything from a Bentley Blower to an R8.
Of course they also have a 24 hour motorcycle race if that floats yer boat

I love that idea. I´m just trying to get my act together. Somebody make the rules and the deadline and we all can go ahead and start the battle for the title.

Re: Le Mans contest
Cool, we seem to have fair bit of interest, maybe it’s time to start firming things up and making decisions. I’d be willing to co-ordinate the comp and maybe put up a kit as a prize. However, if anybody else would like to take the reigns that would be great too.
I’ve also wondered if we could have two separate draws here. A pure Le Mans comp for fresh builds with a deadline of next year’s race. As well as a more general competition for existing builds with a deadline 2 or 3 months away. Of course now we have Mr Bil Attridge on board the competition will be for second place Perhaps we could develop an annual themed competition that we hold every year? Le Mans for 2005, F1 for 2006, etc? With a deadline of the middle of the year to keep us out of step with the AFMOTY. Another point of discussion: How would be best to judge it? Or do we even need a winner |

We ask Bil to be a judge so he can not enter the competition.
