KAWASAKI NINJA ZX-12R - Tamiya 1/12

I build a new model...

It's a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12 from Tamiya. These are the sets I'm gonna use to build one (a kit, HD's chainset, CM's PE set):

I started with engine. Removed all plastic screw/nut heads - I'll replace them on T2M's.Painted with Gunze surfacer:

Rebuilt swingarm. I filled it with stipes made from polystyrene sheet. Cut off suspension linkage:

I also made holes (using halfround file) for a chain tensioner:

A little upgraded clutch cover and filled with Magic Sculp putty air ducts:

Now I'm working on engine paintwork and frame assembly... More updates soon

Very clean work on the shock - did you do it all by hand or was there machining tools involved?? like a lathe-mill? All in all this build is really fantastic - John

Yes, I use a micro lathe mainly for aluminium parts. I also use plastic round profiles in various diameters.

Almost finished engine. I added some wires, cables and hoses. Now, just put into frame

Swingarm with wheel, chainset and brake. I need to add some small details.

Jekyll - nice attention to detail on the engine with the use of the T2M bolts - also the chain looks pretty good - what color gold did you use and does it have a wash on it? - thanks - John
