Smile 1996 Toyota 4runner engine rebuild

The head gasket blew on my son's 4 runner and I am rebuilding the engine myself since the mechanic wanted more than what I paid for the 4runner to do it. I have a question. I ordered a complete rebuild gasket kit. I figured since I'm have way there, I minus well go ahead and do a complete engine rebuild. The kit came with several types of gaskets; metal, cork, and a black paper type. I've installed the cork and black paper type before and used the gasket sealer with them. The metal gasket I have not used before. It has a raised bead around the openings.

Do I use any gasket sealer with this metal gasket?

Also the kit had the metal gasket and black paper gasket for the timing cover. Do I use both or just one or the other?

Thanks for your help.
