Welcome to AF!

Please try and use the correct subforms, this should have been in the classifieds.

I see motors for sale all the time, you shouldn't have to much trouble finding one.

dsmtrader.com/mitsubishigraveyard.com/dsmtuners.com/here on occasion/ local junk yard

if your rebuilding the motor, go for a 6-bolt unless your going to stroke the 7-bolt... IMO crankwalk on a brand new built motor would be a bitch...

Re: lookin for a 4g63 motor for a 95 eclipse for cheap

there is so much fear of crankwalk
I agree if you can prevent it why not. although if its gonna end up costing you a lot more for a new flywheel oil pump etc etc than I dunno could be worth it could be not worth it. Engines normally get 100k on them before they start to walk anyways so I guess some people would be happy to see that many miles on their high application forced induction motors cough rx-7's haha

i dont worry much about crankwalk, i'm just simply stating, that if he is going to replace the motor and re-build it... may as well go with a 6-bolt so their is no worries at all! i would guess that less the 35% of 7-bolts walk... the majority of them being in the older cars (the first 7-bolts) however, with the added strain of performance at hand, the numbers will obviously increase for motor failer... but i'm not worried!

just simply thought that if changing the motor already, and rebuilding it, why not go 6-bolt... its only a few $$$ more for the swap and you have almost no chance of C/W... could be worth the extra $$$, or could be a waste... but hey! it IS an option... opcorn:

lol though i wouldnt mind parking an RX-7 next to my DSM... even if the RX-7 didnt run... hehe

you do know that going from 420A to 4G63 ... would be cheaper, easier, and much MUCH in every way possible if you did your swap by SELLING the 420A car, and buying a 4g63 car... right? you would need Motor, computer, harness, trans, clutch, everything else, lots of beer, time welding, custom fab, hours of free time, and probably a few months without the car? just sell it and buy a turbo car... or boost the 420A... dont swap the motors...
