Not unless the driver in the GTS sucks (which is a good chance because most guys don't know how to drive their Snakes). Equal drivers (unmodified cars), the GTS will smack the SVT all over the place (except in OE braking). The SVT will have a better chance against the Gen 1 Viper.

The prices on used Vipers has dropped dramatically (because of the bad economy), why would anyone buy and SVT over a used Viper?

JMO.

same idea, but i dont like mustangs especially the new ones i dont like em because im a camaro guy, so but anyways it is kinda hard on the 1992 vs 2003 cobra because the cobra has a 11 year advantage, just look at the corvette 1992 vs. 2003, hmmm huge difference but i think (IMO) tat the viper might win by a little, because the engine is still massive remmeber v10 8.0 liter 450bhp

The '92 Snakes had 400 HP.

There is no aftermarket ABS kit for the street (unless you are referring to Viper Sppeds set up). The brakes to get are Stop Tech's. They are the standard for track and street upgrades on Snakes. On 60 to 0 alone they saved me 45 feet.

No. A bigger engine does not mean a car is going to be faster. But let's look at normally aspirated engine output. A bigger engine has a lower torque curve and a higher torque to power ratio in general. Let's look at the rx-7 vs a srt-10. rx-7's torque curve starts at about 2k rpm whereas the viper's starts at about 750 rpm. The rx-7's ratio of torque to power is approx .84lb-ft:1hp whereas the viper is approx 1.05lb-ft:1 hp. this is not because the rx-7 has a rotary.. all small engines have this same problem.. they are able to produce unreal amounts of horsepower, but not enough torque to match the hp when naturally aspirated. Integra: .66:1 300zx (na): .89:1 whereas big engines: Mustang GT: 1.32:1 Corvette: 1.08:1.
