Question Hey! ppl from New York! I've got a law question

Is it really legal to have your licsence plate in your window? Or is it just something a lot of ppl do becasue they don't care and they already have a lot of tickets, and don't care about paying them.

i live in CT and i got pulled over for not having a front license plate at all lol. So i asked the cop if i can put it in the front window n' the cop said, "The law doesn't state that it can't be there, just as long as it's in the front"

You must have the plates secured to the bumpers, as stupid as it is, within the boundaries of NYS to be legal . I finally screwed mine to the front bumper after being pulled over for the third time (in six months, in two different towns).
Although they won't usually f$@# w/ you too much if your whips not all ricey (if you saw my accord you'd think Uncle Ben owned it- with the exception of the 17" custom Budnik Spyders)

I'm not sure about that, I believe that the law says it just has to be in the front of the vehicle so depending on how dick the cop wants to be it all depends on how he interprets the law for you.

just for example I have had cars inspected at various shops and they all pass as long as the plate in in the window at least, if it had to be on the bumper they wouldn't have passed inspection...but again it depends on how the law is interpreted.

NO it has to be on your bumper...and fora good reason you might think it looks cool or whatever but if u get intoa accident and ur airbag comes out or u hit something really hard the g forces from the accident could cause the license plate to fly around the car that includes the sharp edge of it beingpushed into your face with a lot of g forces behind it so think of that next time you get pulled over
