Are Chrome Rims Played out?
Hey check this, I got some 18" Revolver Chrome rims from Nippon Racing, I think they are tight, but all my crew is dissing them.. They say chrome is played out, and rather OG'd... I know what they are sayin but these arent "Dubs" these are racing wheels. Not to mention I stay with the game but I always try to be different.. Chrome to me is different just because I have never seen any imports in town with chrome.. Yea that should tell me something, but what about being different? everyone is sporting polished, or gun-metal, black, and white... Post a reply and lets see if Chrome is really that played out... Thanks for the help.... and criticism!! LOL

I, myself personally don't think that chrome rims are played out.I have some seventeens' chrome wheels and it goes good with my car. Don't worry about what everyone thinks, cause if that was the case all import cars would look exactly alike.

I don't think its played out, I just think white, gunmetal and silver is the trend now... Its all up to you and what you like. I personally hate chrome... I think it looks cheap. But thats my opinion. Go for what you like

got any pics??
they could be nice depending on the style. i just have a bad image of chrome wheels, cause around here all the chrome wheels are those wild ulgy ones that look like they have spikes or swords coming out of them. but like the rims i got(not to jock myself too hard ) also come in chrome and they look nice. |

Chrome wheels aren't bad, it's the design of a rim that makes it bad. If they are decent looking wheels, then I'd like them...no matter what finish they have on them. If they're ugly, then I wouldn't like them in any color. It all depends on the wheel, so I'll have to say no, chrome wheels are not played out.

wags...is that the verdict...a friend of mine has those in hypersilver..its perfect if you like chrome, but dont want the actual thing. its nice looking. for si blue...youd be surprised how much black looks tight, if your into the race aspect. its your thing..hypersilver or chrome will look good.

20's????
I dont think that chrome is playd either, especially on the imports. Nowadays, everyone wants to be a racer, and personally I think that if anything is playd its the racing rim look. Some of us want to have the best of both worlds...i.e...custom tails, kits, jdm parts, and the biggest rims and tires that the car will allow - which brings me to this question: As my log on would imply I have a 93 accord lx sedan and I was wondering if it was possible to throw some 20" rims on my baby. I know that 19's will fit, but 20 is the goal...WILL ANYONE WITH EXPERTISE IN THIS AREA PLEASE REPLY. Thanx

Hmmm.. aren't all 20inch rims width by 10inch plus..
NO it wouldn't work. besides, it would be kinda of hard for your SOHC 110+ hp engine to hall those size rims.. |

The reason chrome wheels arent as popular as silver ones and what not, is because most people who drive the imports are young, and dont have a lot of money to spend on stuff.
