? ? How ? ?
Well .. then ill start off by saying lil new to imports ... never owned one but am going to purchase one .... now then i am going to buy a 240sx .. i have always loved the way they look and i like nissan so i figure its best , i have chosen a import cuz gas is to freakin exspensive ... i want a mustang but the mpg are not very appealing anyway i wanna have some power in it so i wanna turbo charge it .... now then i have looked around for a kit and there all about 3500 or so and i dont wanna spend that much so i thought id make one my self ... ( my dad is very good with cars) anyway i just didn't know if anyone has a setup that would work for me ... anyway long and short what all would i need and can i atleast get like 250hp out of it ? ... with stock intervals ... anyway thanks for the help ...

Re: ? ? How ? ?
Well to keep it cheap, you'll have to buy some used parts. Not broken parts. ;P
If you plan to go turbo, dunno if you have your car yet, but you will need to consider a few things like how many miles are on your car, and can your car handle a turbo. Check your compression raitos, and consider rebuilding for hile milage motors. On a stock KA24 motor you can push about 7PSI and be safe. Though any higher isn't recommended. for a build around $2000-$3000 depending on how froogle you are looking around 200-230WHP, you can maybe do more.. but a basic setup would be some 370cc fuel injectors, fuel control, ECU management system for tuning, most likely atelast a T28 turbo (NOT FROM EBAY!!), turbo manifold (Also do not recommend ebay, they crack easily), blow off valve, bigger exhaust, an intercooler, and a bit of tuning. You may even need to consider looking at a better MAF. It ads up quick, and can be a lot of work. One thing I can tell you is getting a 240SX with a KA24DE (Dual over head cams) which is tipically found in 1991 and up 240sx, you'll have more power then the older singel over head cam KA24E. Of course there is one other option. SR20DET motor swap, but that'll run you about 3 grand + some from most people I have talked to. Hopes this helps. |
