633 - cranks but no ignition

All,

Hoping you can help... just bought a 633 that i knew needed some work, now trying to get it running... it will turn over alright, but no ignition...

I've replaced fuel pump(s) and checked that fuel is getting to the sparks as they are pretty well flooded with fuel after i crank it for a while with no ignition...

I've replaced the coil and tested it... it does output a spark...

The distributor and rotor look to be ok...

tested all the plug cables... they are fine...

Our next step is to replace the crank position sensors however I was hoping someone could point us in any other directions...

Does anyone know how the negative is routed off of the coil?... we noticed that when we just left it staticly attached we had some issues creating a spark on a plug, but when we cut the cable and grounded it at an interval (tapping the wire against a ground) we got a good spark... so i'm thinking it might have something to do with wherever that negative goes coming out of the coil...

thoughts are appreciated.
