Ok, a slight change in plans... Turns out I got my oil pump but no gears for it... Opps on my part, so now I won't have it back until after the weekend... Oh well, looks like I'll just have to party for 4 consecutive days instead. lol

Re: Blackcrow64's Talon TSi AWD Project... Warning: Lots of pictures!
I didn't even think of the hat being in the picture...
Don't worry, that is definetly not the valve cover thats going on it... I got something sweet coming... Hehe... So far I had some complications... A nice bolt broken off in the block that the machine shop never took out. Unfortunatly I needed the hole for the carrier bearing... Or so I thought... After spending some time on it trying to get it out and pretty much screwing up that hole, it was figured out that I could avoid using that hole. I never gave it any thought that there is a bracket underneath the AC compressor that the carrier bearing also bolts to. The bracket has 3 of the 4 holes to bolt down and both of my carrier bearing bolts can go in just fine now... So... Tomorrow morning I will be cleaning many parts/accessories and prepping them to be put on the motor. I am currently ordering my new timing belt cover, injectors, and pump and I should be good... This weekend... Oh buddy... I'm off from work and I'm gonna have that thing in and moving right along. I still have to wire up my gauges (procrastinator) and rewire the CAS and put in my fuel pump... Uhh... I'm sure theres many other little details I will forget about as I go on... So thats about it for tonight.

Re: Blackcrow64's Talon TSi AWD Project... Warning: Lots of pictures!
Well I went and polished my stock intake manifold this morning... I didn't do it quite as nice as my other things since I plan on swapping it out for a different one next season...
I also realized that the guy who assembled it put the 6 bolt motor mount on it again, so you know what that means... My ass has to take all the timing off again just to change that shit. I'm about sick of running into problems, I just wanna drop it in! Oh and I lost my pressure plate to top it all off... Freakin great...

how oh how.. just how in the world... did you lose a pressure plate? I mean, okay, it's small item and all secrets safe, it took me 2 hours one day to find a ciruclar saw I was just using and set down. |

I'm hoping somebody didn't take off with it when visiting the shop one day. Hopefully I find it... If not then I guess I'll just have to buy a better one. lol
