350Z now, G35 later

Im only 19 and I love the Z. Im looking to buy one sometime within a year. The G35 is basically the same car and same engine, but slightly slower. if i was a corporate buisness man I would get the G35. The z is a kids car, the G35 is a rich man's car.

The 350Z isn't a kid's car. It has quite high performance and I shudder at the thought of some kid getting mommy and daddy to buy them one...shudder for the car's sake...

I think I like the G35. From a style aspect anyway. The LED tails, super clean body styling, very flowing front bumper, just a nice, nice style. The 350 is a little to rounded for me.

certainly 2 of the best japanese cars made... it's a tough choice, but in the end I think it comes down to 4 seats > 2, having a car with jsut 2 seats isnt very handy, and I can think of many drawbacks, and only one pro: it weighs less, but its not very much faster in the first place.

but on the outside they're both great looking and I wouldn't mind owning either. BTW is the 350Z RWD? I know Nissan has a hard on for their 3.5 V6, I think they've thrown it into almsot every car/truck/minivan they make, but the Altima and Maxima are FWDs.

NO question ask, it has to be G35 coupe. 350z is nice but not as nice when compare to the G. G35 for life.

Re: 350Z, or Infiniti G35 Coupe?

They are both good looking machines. I was looking at 350z but I ended up buying a 04 G35 coupe for my son. I like the front of the Z but the tail of the 35. Plus my 35 came with 6-speed and brembo. The G35 will be his daily driver and his 86 300ZX turbo is our project car. The bottom pictures is his 86 ZXT with 350Z HID projectors I retrofited a while back.

Re: 350Z, or Infiniti G35 Coupe?

Ive been contemplating between the 2 for the past 6 months, finally decided on the G. Waiting for the bodyshop to find me a smashed one and fix it for me. Definately both hot cars but theres way more appeal with the G35

Re: 350Z, or Infiniti G35 Coupe?

it depends on what your trying to accomplish...

If your looking for the faster car then go for the Z

if your looking for the more stylish then go for the G

My fav. is the G i Want power with a class of its own look!!!

Re: 350Z, or Infiniti G35 Coupe?

k so from the name you know my vote. When I was shopping I drove both. Went with the G because I thought Id get in less trouble and that my girlfriend would like it better. I was right about the second part. Comparatively speaking, its not the same car... AT ALL. The z is your normal issue sports car, you get in, turn the key, mash the gas, then get thrown back in your seat whilst you try not to poop your pants because you were DEFINITELY not expecting that. Its rough, raw, unfiltered go fast. The G will go just as fast and I know you guys are going to absolutely crucify me here but the Z has 287hp/274fpt, the G has 280hp/270fpt. I drove em both... hard... and as far as acceleration and speed goes... I honestly couldn't tell a difference. I liked the G because it was alot smoother than the Z, the Z felt like a bucking bronc, IT WAS AWESOME! but... then I hoped into the G and sent it flying down the road just as quick, but not holding on for dear life, in fact, i thought i was going alot slower than i actually was. this has changed a bit now that ive owned it for a good minute, nothing like hearing that exhaust at 6k rpm. as far as track times go, i looked it up and there really isnt much difference. the biggest difference which most of you 350z fans seem to despize is that when you leave the track you get to take one hot foxy track groupie with you... i get to take 3... lol I like both cars, the G was just a little more pratical for me and has ample plenty go fast to get me into far to much trouble. if you want side by side z vs. g info check first link

if your the guy that says the skyline and the g arent the same and have different engines than you should check this link too and compare... cuz you is wrong. doh!
