Interesting that the dealer said he couldn't replace it. Any reason given?
I replaced mine just the other day. The bulbs can be picked up at a walmart or auto parts store fairly cheap.
You should be able to pull the back off of the light and get to the bulb from there. If you need specific instructions let me know... an easy do-it-yourself job.

Re: high center light needed=

Oh sorry... I thought it was a bulb type like my 92... I don't know of any places to get the LED type but I'll keep my eye open here (there's lots of paseo people near Billings, MT) and I'll post if I find something.

Just to clarify... is it the light in the rear window (that's what I was assuming) or is it the one that goes on a spoiler?

it is on the spoiler. i believe i found a solution. the place that sells caps for pickup trucks installs a universal 3rd brake light on the rear window of the caps.it ain,t as bright as LED,but it,s a whole lot less expensive. i don,t know if my local toyota parts dept was joking or not. but he told me he wanted like $300. for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!the light in the window thing is like $65.

i gave up and installed a trailer type stop light on the top of the trunk between the spoiler and the rear window. the same wiring from the LED was used. bought it at A Z for $8.
