You might want to check into an M3 or BMW forum, they could probably help you more. I'm not too familiar with the M3's engine. The most basic system you could 'Probably' run is a Dry nos kit, #5124 with a .032 jetting, that would give you about a 50 HP increase. I do know however that the M3 has a really high compression ratio, so you might run into trouble with detonation. If you have short intake runners, you could use a wet kit, or if you have the money, go for Direct port. It will most likely have to be custom, but it'll be the safest way. Like I said though, check out some BMW forums for the best info, or contact holley at www.holley.com and ask them, they make the NOS brand kits...

Mtrai760, iv tried tuns of nitrous systems (NOS being one of them), But every one that I try always messes up my engine. And, for the fact that I have over 90,000 dollars put into this car this really upsets me. So... If you have any other ideas of systems than it would be awesome to know. Thank you very much for you help it means a lot to me when my car is my life (no joke).

I've put links to this thread in two of our other Tech forums here on AF. We'll see if that gets the gear-heads in here to help you out.

DTMpower.net these sites have very good forums on them, and im sure they will be able to tell you alot. As for mods, how about a turbo. Turbo's are work well, put out plenty of horsepower, and are more effiecient than NOS. Only problem is, thats a bit more on the pricey side. but it sounds like you have a bit of money to throw around

Yeah but with 90k invested in it he should have been through almost every turbo and supercharger on the BMW market

$90,000?? Good God!!!! Why do you even need nitrous??? You could have had a custom twin turbo set up for prolly much less that you have already spent.

• Throttle Cable Clips
• Quick Release Steering Hub • 25 mm Brake Master Cylinder Upgrade • Custom power steering pump w/ cooler • Custom splitter and wing extension • Fuel cell installation • H&R Coil Over's • Carbon Fiber Intake Plenum • Modified Armrest • Custom Stainless 3" Exhaust (With Evo III header and Burns Y-Pipe.) • Gn2 Rear Shock Tower Reinforcement • E34 M5 Guibo • Magnecor Ignition Wires w/ Low-Crossfire Bracket • 740iL & E28 Motor Mounts • Smaller and Lighter Interstate Battery • 4-Point Welded In Roll Bar • Cylinder head ported by Don Fields w/ stock intake valves • Throttle Bodies Bored to 48 mm and ported by Don Fields -The BMW Motorsport Evo III throttle bodies are larger then the 2.3 L units. They have 48 mm butterflies while the stock TB's have 46 mm butterflies. That amounts to almost a 10% increase in cross-sectional area. What I did is enlarge my stock throttle bodies to accommodate the larger 48 mm but terflies and then port out the rest of the body to match. The result is not quite as free flowing as the Evo III units but it's close. The larger throttle bodies are matched to the larger Evo III intake trumpets to keep things balanced. • BMW Motorsport Evo III 2.5 L Crankshaft An 87 mm stroke vs. the stock 84 mm stroke gives an increase in displacement but also a big increase in torque due to the increased mechanical advantage of the piston on the crankshaft as it passes through 90° past TDC. • JE Forged Pistons w/ 11.35:1 Compression Ratio The pistons were customly designed. I ordered them in a 95 mm bore which I had deemed acceptable based on sonic testing of the block. The JE pistons have extra deep valve pockets to prevent piston-to-valve interference from bonking the engine. Total Seal rings are employed. • Schrick Camshafts - 284 intake & 276 exhaust These cams are definitely more aggressive than the Evo III cams. But the maximum lifts are lower than on the all out Schrick race cams (the 305 and the 320). This way the engine still idles ok and doesn't fall on it's face at low RPM's. • BMW Motorsport Gp A "Rally" Exhaust Header This header has much bigger primaries and slightly bigger secondaries than the stock 2.3 L header. The Gp A "Rally" header has an excellent reputation for producing a well balanced powerband. A stock 2.3 L engine might not flow enough air to put this header to use. But a modified 2.5 L engine can really use the extra breathing. • Evo III AFM w/ Evo III "Big Green" Injectors (TMS/Conforti Software) The recalibrated AFM and the larger injectors are a common upgrade when building a high flow 2.5 L S14. Plus they are designed to work with the special TMS/Conforti chip. • BMW Motorsport Gp-A Exhaust Header • Some seriously abused S14 rod bearings... • Burnt S14 exhaust valve • Evo III Intake Trumpets • Improved ignition coil mount • Adjustable muffler clamps • Stiffer transmission mounts • EVO lower airbox w/ Evo III intake trumpet • Hoisting the engine in • Modified intake plenum • Cyl. head oil restrictor • Custom 3" Exhaust Project • Carbon Fiber Intake Plenum • Ground Control Suspension • Modified Sparco Stress Bar • 6-Point Safety Harness • M Coupe Diff' Cover • Customized Driving Position |
