ALL 3000GTs are 4wd, and they all have the same engine. VR-4 has 3.0-liter TT which produces 320hp, just like the other 3000GTs,... actually if i think about it, I don't really know the difference between the normal 3000GT and VR4. :o
anybody know? By the way, I think VR4 is heavier, so it might have more technology or something. |

V6 in both
here it is in the SL, non turbo'd with 222 hp. And in the VR-4 with the TT and 320 hp ---------- "Ferrari isn't a car, it's a lifestyle" -Enzo Ferrari. |

UMMMMMM U guys are way off. NO offense but I own a 3000gt. If u guys really want info check out www.3si.org
Here are the differences between a VR4 and a regular 3000gt 1)twin turbos(obviously) VR4's have twin turbos where as regular 3000gts have eather a NA DOHC or a NA SOHC. 2)Non-VR4 3000gts do not have turbos, but it is possible to do it. It is a procedure that many of the NA guys are puresueing, it is almost a bolt on procedure on a NA DOHC car. 3)vr4's have AWD. AWS(all wheel steering) and an active exhuast the can be changed from sport to tour. The NA 3000gts are front wheel drive. 4)There is a weight difference between them. This is mainly caused by the AWD system and AWS. I hope this helped these are just the main difference there are many more smaller ones such as the engine's compression ratio and otehr goodies :-) Edited by: igor@af |

Ya, u are probably right about the GTO's but they were never imported into the U.S so no one really knows alot about them. I have never even seen one. :-) It would be cool to own though.

3000GT is the same car as GTO. It's just that GTO only has 280hp with TT because of the gentleman agreement. 3000GT has 320.
Maybe there are different specs as in 3000GT can't have TT but VR-4 does have turbos, but GTO can have TT no matter what class it is. |

A vr4 is a 3000gt w/ TT. Just as a Dodge Stealth RT/TT is a 3000gt vr4. The GTO was the early japanese version of the 3000gt(I may be wrong LOL)I understand it is the same car, but the GTO was never imported into the U.S(as far as I know :-)But, a VR4 is a 3000gt, it just has TT and soem other stuff.

to help this forum get on the right track
here's your answer to what's available in japan http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.jp/docs8/productss/gto99/lineup.html GTO Twin Turbo(AWD, AWS, ECS, TT) GTO Twin TurboMR(AWD, TT, sports suspension) GTO SR(AWD, NA) in the U.S. we have the VR-4/Stealth RT-TT(which have the same as the regular GTO Twin Turbo) and the base model and SL. 91-93 VR-4's had 300hp(9psi) 94+ VR-4's had 320hp(11psi) depending which years you get the base model will have the identical amount of HP as the SL, which is 222hp. and other years... you will get stuck with 160hp. |

Pretty cool site Igor. Nice layout and a whole shitload of cars to choose from. Not bad. Pac, good to see that Gran Turismo came in handy for something. J/K bro.
