SVRA Sebring Mar 3-6
Recap of the weekend.
I had a GREAT time. I was definitely still trying to sort the car out with all the changes we made to it over the winter. The Jerico and the new clutch setup is working me over. I just need to get my timing and head straight on it. Downshifting is the struggle spot. Upshifting without a clutch is way cool. I did manage to turn my fasted time of 2.28 over my previous best of 2.34 last year. This was very pleasing however I know the car can do much better once the nut behind the wheel gets better. My favorite event was the night enduro. WOW that is so much fun. I did not get any good footage however because my traqmate cable jettisoned during my co-driver's stent just before it got really dark. See picture below of the awesome headlight setup. During the final enduro on Sunday I was forced offtrack by a over zealous Lotus Espirit driver after I let him go by. This caused me to bend 3 of the 4 rear control arms and end my race day. All in all it was a great weekend.

Car looks great, I can hardly wait to get my car on the track.
What class is SVRA putting you in? I have raced in group 3 with my MG for years. Just wondering who I will be running against. I will be post the progress in getting my car ready soon. Thanks, Tom Whitfield Rebuilding Peske 1/2 body show car |

Re: SVRA Sebring Mar 3-6
SVRA is putting the panoz in group 12 class c with the Caymans.
It is pretty good placement. The fastest at Sebring turned a 2.22 another panoz that came with Gary Jones which had a monster motor and a jerico as its only upgrade with a guy who has been driving a LONG time ran a 2.26. I feel our cars a can compete and beat them if driven well. They must be set up very well, the cayman's can brake and corner VERY well.

I don't think so, but if it's always done it then it may be, you know the car? It may be some kind of problem as simple as needing a new fuel filter to as complicated as the fuel injection computer....The only way to really know is to have it put on the machine.

Re: SVRA Sebring Mar 3-6
Glad you and your car had some fun.....thats why we do it!!!!
Does SVRA have some fast cars to run with in the 2:14-16 range at sebring? I have been looking for a club in Florida that has some cars to run with and a fair class that my modded GTS can run it. NASA has the class but lapping the entire field isnt fun enough anymore.

Re: SVRA Sebring Mar 3-6
Yes there are some cars in that range. They are old Lola's and stuff like that. Some GT3 P cars with good drivers running round there also. I am not sure how fast the old 80-99 Trans Am cars are running. I will see if I can find out.
The fastest car there I think was an Audi R8R LMP1 car that won at Lemans. That car was sick to watch. NICE HOBBY CAR!. The might have the results up on the SVRA site now. -td
