Kevin makes a very good point. I normally crack test the crank and rods at each planned periodic stripdown. I have had cast cranks that have lived for a lot more than 100 hours without cracking but these were carefully detailed, tuftrided, carefully balanced and not used over 6400 rpm. The rod set with this crank was replaced as I would find these would crack as the hours got up on them.
