Blown piston... what to do?
I won't say how I managed to blow out a piston & rings, but it wasn't worth it.
Not sure what to do next...

I'd check out www.delorean.com. They sell both rebuilt and 0 mile Delorean PRV engines with the originally planned (by Mr. Delorean) 190 something hp instead of the ~130 hp of the stock Delorean. While it's no where near as much power as an LT1 or NSX V6, it's also a direct fit and would cost next to nothing to fit (or nothing if you can do it yourself), whereas those other engines would probably be several thousand just to have fitted.

I really like the performance specs on the new Corvette Z06, but it costs $$$ & will NOT get you looks. Corvettes are everywhere. When I park my DMC at a restaurant, people always gather around to take a peek

I still say you outa pull the engine and go over it, rebuild it right and make sure you wont have this problem again. Adding turbos would kick ass too.:bandit:

Rebuild the engine, and get the twin turbo upgrade, or better yet, send it to USA DMC and get the upgrade package done while you're at it.

I might get a single, large turbo, installed by Don at www.deloreanmotorcenter.com . He is trustworthy (at least 5 years ago, the last time I was there), and quoted a price around $2K. He said the twin turbo is like $6K, so I think it is not really worth it... unless we are talking a highly tuned sequential twin, with a small first stage turbo and a large second... and twin intercoolers featuring water vapor cooling nozzles But I have a feeling that setup is more than $6K Oh, and by the way the piston problem is solved! So any mods to the engine would be just to increase performance, so now the frugal side of me is saying "If I don't NEED it, then it can wait".
