Silvr's new turbo setup

Hey guys, alot of you know I have done a lot of work to the car in the last few months. Heres what all what done:

Relocated battery to trunk
Relocated fuse box to behind the bumper
Moved ECU
Redid some wiring to clean up the bay
Powder coated valvecover
Built new top mount turbo manifold
Fab new downpipe
New intercooler and piping
Put the AC back in

There was a few other things that had to be done but thats the major parts of it. I tried doing another 8 injector setup but had issues with MS controlling the secondary injectors so went back to full stand alone. Its running pretty well at the moment. Only tuned up to 10psi, waiting on the intercooler pipes to get tig welded so I can add meth in and the IAC sensor. Then going to tune up to 27psi is the goal. Hoping for about 450whp. Car is going to be on a dynojet dyno so that should be easily obtained. Here are some pics!

I designed and welded the manifold out of schedule 40 mild steel.

Manifold welded up

Manifold cleaned and ready to wrap

Downpipe refabed and wrapped

New intercooler

Still got to keep the fog lights

Almost finished

Re: Silvr's new turbo setup

Really nice man, Im really impressed. Manifold looks great. I was definately not feeling that ramhorn dealio manifold. I like your placement of the turbo. I noticed its a holset. Which holset is it? 3" full exhaust? 2.5" hardpipes? Where did you source the IC, ebay? Is that a stock intake manifold? What kind of rad fans are you running?

Re: Silvr's new turbo setup

Thanks man I really didnt like it either since I had to dent the pipes to clear the hood. Yes its a holset hy35. I have been running that turbo for a few months now. Was pushing it to about 22psi before the change. Full 3" exhaust and 2.5 intercooler pipes. Stock intake manifold gasket matched and ported to 60mm for the throttle body. Intercooler is from ebay, has about 3psi of pressure drop across it which is more than I want but it cools like a beast. Even after several pulls its still cold. The rad fans are also from ebay, one actually had the motor lock up so only running 1 fan at the moment but havent had any cooling issues.

Re: Silvr's new turbo setup

So the throttle body? I think Ive read about it before. Isnt it a jeep unit or something like that? As for fans, yea that sucks. I ran an off the shelf advance auto parts fan on mine with good results. So you said you got the ac on now?

Re: Silvr's new turbo setup

Yea the TB is 60mm off a 4.0L jeep. Bolts up with minor mods. Next summer Ill probably spend some cash and buy too good fans. Im sure with the AC on and a FMIC it will run hot in the summer. The AC is all in but has not be charged yet. Im not sure if the compressor is even good still. Probably will wait till next spring to charge it up
