you know the title, first car, 16!

ok well i am looking for a vihicle that isnt in bad shape, low insurence, reliable, and most importantly fun to drive!

is it A) 1985-1990 ford escort, auto* (*mostly all you can get)
B) 1983-1988 HONDA PRELUDE, Manual probly 1.8l or 2.0l engine (whats better)
C) 1954-55 FARGO step side PU 3 on tree flathead 6 (needs restore)
D)1954 CHEVROLET long whlbase PU (needs restore)
E)1987 MAZDA B2000 (needs head gasket)

(A,B,+E all are runners or easy fixes so should be done them in 6 months (also when i get my licence)C+D need restorations to get them running so those are more if i want to start a project with my step-father)

(B+E have been in the family before (not the same cars) and we havent had any real trouble with them (except the prelude, sister went through an offroad trail (puncured the gas tank on rock found out when they got back home) but the car was doing better then a full size blazer that had gotten stuck in some ruts that the car went right through)

with the B2000 inspect it, if it has been used as a work vehicle (this is the mazda ute right?) then it was most likely thrashed and treated light a pile of crap. i have worked with work utes before, and we just destroy them. plus its got a small engine compared to other work vehicles so it would be definatly thrashed as a work vehicle. would need a full inspection before purchasing

Re: you know the title, first car, 16!

well with the mazda its right around the corner from where i am now and i will be having myself and my father to lookover the vehicle. my main problem is that i have 2 days to do so because i am going back up to penticton (im visiting with my father right now) so these cars may just slip pass. also if i do get the mazda is the truck going to be able to make a drive to penticton (5 hours on a highway)? or will it have to be fixed here then drove up there?

a car with a blown head gasket would not be suitable for a drive of more than a mile or 2.

If you have the time, money, and patience id go with the chevy. If you do a good job restoring it then youll definately stand apart from the other kids at school. And you gotta love the way those trucks look!
