Help regarding some kits (Impreza, 787B, MP4-12C) and making own decals

Hello

I have a few questions regarding some kits.

1. Mazda 787B, it is really expensive (like 80 USD). I heard something about a re-release? I don't like the looks of the current Tamiya-version anyway, so it would suit me nicely.

2. Subaru Impreza. I got really excited regarding these cool lights (see picture)

Do they come "stock" in any kit or are they custom-made? If they are stock, I guess there are several different versions of the Impreza that has them. I've seen them on real WRC-cars several times but only once on a model-car, I believe it was a Tamiya.

3. Fujumi released a MP4-12C GT3 right?

This car seemed extremely nice to me:

I know the Fujimi-version is supposed to be orange but did they release more or is this "custom"? Doesn't look to hard to paint either way.
Here's the website btw: http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/watanabe_ak.../23719579.html

Is this a custom-livery or does this kit exist? I suppose I can make those decals myself? If so I guess there is a no.4 question:

4. How do I print out my own decals? I figured there is some sort of paper you can order from modeling sites? I am fairly skilled in both Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator so I guess I just need help with printer-settings and the "paper"

If I didn't make myself clear due to language-skills or missed some vital info feel free to point that out All help and tips would be nice.

If I'm not mistaken those lights on the Subaru came in the 'Rally of Great Britain' Version..

This one http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10024382

Tamiya are re releasing the Mazda although in a different colour scheme, not the 'Renown' version that it came in originally..

McLaren kit and a few other decal options are available here..

Hello,

you can also find rally night stage lightpods in the 98 MonteCarlo Subaru kit:

Thanks for the replies

I will go with the '98 Impreza, preferred that body.

The "new" 787B was horribly ugly, I might buy it anyway and get my "own" livery then, and the MP4-12C will be postponed

So, as for the decals, how do I make my own ?

I've read laserjet printer and clear decal paper work well. You have to seal the decal sheet after printing to prevent the decal from running once it touches water.

I use to print some selfmade decals for models or Lego minifigs customisation on my usuall HP inkjet printer, just choosing "Photo Quality" and "Photo Paper".

I works well inside the limits of self inkjet printing (no white or metalic color etc)

No need to seal decals if printed using a laser printer as they are waterproof already. Only decals printed on an inkjet printer need to be sealed..

You can make the decals in Adobe Illustrator and print on a laser printer. I made every decal myself for this Subaru Legacy of Richard Burns in the Elonex colour scheme..

Ok I will use inkjet :/ So what is "sealing"? Spraying with clear-paint?

Thx for the pictures, if I can get anything close to that I'll be perfectly happy

You can seal the inkjet decals using acrylic varnish or better still use Microscale Liquid Decal Film which you just brush over the decals whilst they are still on the backing sheet.
