Good Luck finding a BMW 325 for under 5 grand. Maybe an early 80's, But why would you want that. They have so many problems. My parentys have two bmw's a 93 and 92, they have so many problems, and the repair bills start off at a couple thousand, they aren't reliable at all.
I would definetly recommend a Japanese car, U can buy an accord 90-93, for under 5000, I have a 90 accord will all the options, good power and fun, I get 28+MPG and there is virtually no repair if you maintain it. The biggest repair was that i had to put a new compressor in, so i bought an aftermarket, and only cost 150 with installation, and i have over 250000 miles on it too, purrs like a kitten. Japanese cars are the most reliable cars out ther, and even if they do break, the parts are cheap. I wouldn't even look to a german car on your budget and your reliability issue, Trust me, you will regret it. FWD is not that bad once you get used to it, and they handle really well. Hope i helped Matt |

You can find 95' Corollas for around 3500$-4500$ here where I live. I know they are plain, boring and not very fast, but they run a long time, are low maintenence and I've really never had a lot of trouble with Toyota.

I am used to driving a FWD but it doesnt really matter.
I really dont want a small japanese car. I want a larger full size 4 door sedan. I can find lots of 92-93 BMW's from 5-7k and from the reliability reports online they seem on the upper end' of reliable - i do know that any repair bills would be hefty though. As long as I dont get a lemon - maybe itll run perfect! :licker: |

Re: What would you buy if you only had $5000 to spend?
Everyone has its own choice but if i have to spend 5000$ only so i would like to buy a classic car of old model in about 2500$ to 3000@ and then restore it in the remaining amount and build it with my own style.
