What Makes A Type-R?

What does it take to have a car considered "Type-R"?

are you talking any "Type-R" or just Honda?

an ITR (Integra Type R) has the B18C5 which puts out close to 200hp (it think its like 192), improved suspension, red backrounded badges, higher spoiler and an LSD. Gear ratios are different. No frilly stuff though (ie - leather, sunroof, etc.). It is a true racing production car. Many SCCA racers drive them bone stock (or very near).

Hope this helps....

Misprint: b18c5 w/195hp

Also, they haven't any side mouldings and lack sound dampening, which makes it hardly a driver's car.

the engine is basically a gsr engine with a port & polish..and a couple extras. but i think what really makes the type r is the stiffer suspension, lighter frame, bigger brakes, like sleeper said..no frilly stuff. it was made for racing "R". get a chance to drive one and you will know what makes it a type r.

yeah basically the car has been stripped to reduce weight, theres less power options, the engine is HAND port-polished... ecu is modified (not too sure however)... oh and it screams too
NOTE: there is also a prelude type S aswell, honda just named it S instead of R.

Don't forget that the Type R also has a different intake manifold than the GSR, has a front lip spoiler, and is has five lugs instead of four.

heh..i dont always have 402hp...just once. i boosted to 20psi to see what it would do. i normally run around 313hp at 6-7psi.. 402 lasted about twenty minutes...maybe. we had it on the dyno..and figured 'what the hell' so we tried it out.

and no i dont have pictures...i need a damned camera!
