I was wondering the same thing......

I'm not to sure on this subject because I am new to the Nissan family. But mine does the exact same thing. When I shift into 2nd it does feel like it grinds a little bit. As far as the passenger floor vibrating, nothing wrong there. The second gear thing is that just how these cars are built? If anyone knows about this, help us out. Peace:alien:

Don't feel bad....

Man after having my car for about a month. I had to bring to the shop for engine failure. The dealership had no idea what the hell happened. They had to have someone from Cali come over all the way down here to Louisiana and look at it. Some of the problems that I remembered the service Dept manager saying was that one of the Cylinders was weak, acutally that's all I remember him saying. When I got the car back I asked him what the hell happened to the car and they had no idea. The reprsentative from Cali didn't want the dealership to look into it. I saw my old motor on a crate, they shipped that one back to Cali and they gave a brand new motor from Japan, matter of fact the General Manager told me that it came right off the Assembly line. First time he has ever seen that happen. But anyway, it's not just you, I've had shitty luck as well. Hope everything goes well.:alien:

Having the same problem with 2nd gear grinding. Haven't even beat on the car yet. Did it since it has had 30 miles or so. Mine is worse when the car isn't warmed up. Very easy driving it seems to be the worse. If I shift a bit quicker it doesn't tend to do it. Are you planning on taking yours to the dealer. I want to take mine in but that is of course an inconvenience. But on the other hand I want it to be known it's acting up the when the trans and or synchros fail they don't go blaming me. Has this been happening on anyone elses Spec V??? I have been a Honda guy my past 4 cars and beat the hell out of the transmissions in those and only ever had a problem with 3rd gear in one of them. I can't believe I haven't even got on this thing hard yet and it is grinding. But otherwise I am blown away by the overall performance of this car. Kicks ass compared to the Honda's I've had even when they had all the bolt-ons.

tranny

My car doesn't grind in second gear. However the passenger floor does vibrate, but only on deceleration. When the clutch is pushed in or the car is in neutral it is fine. There is no noise on acceleration at all. After about 45-60 min. of driving the noise goes away. If anyone knows anything about this let me know thanks.

Tranny Issue

I have heard nothing from either the tranny or the passenger side floor on mine.

I think that the vibration your passengers are feeling is the brakes hanging up for just a second after you take off, ifelt it when riding shotgun. My car was also doing the same thing but i cannot feel it anymore, i've got 1900 miles now. just a possibility

Not having any grinding. I have a little whine in my trainie. Only when there is a load on the engine. Nothing if I take my foot all the way off the gas, Just coasting. And again... Nothing if My foot is in it, just about 1/3 down. It dosen't matter what RPM I am at. If I am maintaining, it's whining. Weather at 15mph or 115mph. Kinda sucks!

Unhappy

I'm not getting the grind in 2nd but in reverse and only when the car is cold. If its warmed up I get no problems... guess its still a little new?
