e250 messin with me!
I need help! Yeah, my wife has already told me, but this e250 4.2 is kicking me, and i'm sick with some kinda virus and that makes it worse! The van will run fine until the battery voltage starts dropping and then all the gauges in the dash go to zero; and eventually the van will shut down! Not a problem right! just replace the alternator! Nope!, all readings were the alt. was not putting out so I replaced the alt., and guess what?! i't did the excact same thing! The battery has been replaced twice by the owner! Rule out plates seperating there! I have checked all connections- good! I don't have a charging system wiring diagram for this vehicle, so I'm asking is there any relay or connection in the charging system I should be aware of that could cause this problem? Is there a GEM module and does it control the charging system? Thanks to all!!

Re: e250 messin with me!
like most modern alternators, there's no real inputs other than the big battery cable. If you got good voltage there, then you got a bad alternator
Some remans are really suspect out of the box (cardone, autolight) but even high quality ones can be bad now and then.
