Remove radio from 1997 328I

Bently manual says to remove the hold down screws from each side of the radio, then simply pull it out of the dash. Unfortunately, it's not that simple as it won't come out. Any suggestions??

Re: Remove radio from 1997 328I

i do not have an E36, however it seems almost the same as my E30.

in my e30 you had to unscrew the screws as far as they would go, i had purchased a special radio removal tool:
http://www.bmpdesign.com/product-exe...category_id/16

however, this is not necessary as you can use any allen wrench.

when the screws are undone, they disengage the locks on either sides of the radio, and pull them back into the housing of the radio body.
