Re: '95 4.6L Mods
That makes no sense. The compression change alone will not give 20rwhp. There must have been something else changed also to yield those kind of numbers.

Re: Re: '95 4.6L Mods
It basically has to do with how restrictive the N-PI engines were. Putting on a set of PI Intake and Cams alone would gain 30-40 rwhp. Cams and intake both can be bought for around $300-400. You can port/polish the stock heads if you later want to go forced inducted and dont want the added compression.

Re: '95 4.6L Mods
What does that have to do with your claim that PI heads on a 98 engine make 20 more horsepower than a 99 engine? This claim does not wash.
Regarding your new claim, cams and intake do not yield 30-40rwhp. The heads are what is restrictive on a 96-99 GT, not the intake. Where are you getting this stuff from? |

Re: Re: Re: '95 4.6L Mods
The intake is what was found to be restrictive... When both ported the NPI heads flow just as good as PIs and end up flowing better on the intake side. The PIs outflow the NPI heads on the exhaust.
Go look at some other sites where people have done the PI Intake and Cams swap. Check out their results.

Re: '95 4.6L Mods
I don't have time to look at every Mustang site out there and pay attention to every word of mouth claim.
I do see that Livernois claims up to 30 or so rwhp from their PI intake swap kit. The basic question I have for you is still how the relatively small compression increase can net 20 HP over a PI motor? What references do yo have to support this? |
