Also note ur cobra was not supercharged prior to 03. Therefore, it's hp was much less than the 03 cobra. Mustang trims always confused me cuzz they're so many. I always thought a prior 03 cobra was a mach1, i guess i'm wrong?

Re: Mustang GT vs Dodge Stealth

Motor trend doesnt know how to drive. Nor does Road and Track, or car and driver. In fact I think it wa Motor Trend that posted times of mid 14's for a stock VR4.

Paul Svinky ran a 12.8 in a stock Mach one from an article in MM&FF. MM&FF also ran a stock 03 Cobra to 12.4. Only slicks kept it from 11's. Cobras are underrated in HP. There are several that have dynoed at 360-370 RWHP. Thats equivilent to about 430 Flywheel. Trust me I used to subscribe to a bunch of Mustang mags and saw what everyone ran.

Re: Re: Mustang GT vs Dodge Stealth

It is NOT an opinion. Damn WTF is people's problems when they cant accept the truth. The Cobra will run 11's with slicks and nothing more, a Mach 1 is capable of 12's stock. There is no way around it. Driver has everything to do with it.

Re: Re: Mustang GT vs Dodge Stealth

Look at the discrepancy in times alone. That right there shows driver ability. 14.0 in a high 12 car. Shows they dont know how to drive it. And when the Supra came out it may have been someone with more driving skill.

I got another example for you. My uncle had a 69 Camaro that he took to the drag strip. He was running consistent 13.9's. My other uncle jumped in the car and ripped off some 13.2's. Thats .7 difference in driver alone.

Re: Mustang GT vs Dodge Stealth

and agian i'm not saying that you seen 1 run in the 12's

check my posts above, but obviously most drivers get in and run mid 13's

you say it has the old cobra engine, well the old cobra's ran mid 13's. this i also have seen with my own two eyes

http://car-stats.com/stats/showstats...tsgivenid.aspx

if you need more proof i can provide it. hell go ask a mustang moderator, most people run mid to low 13's in a mach1

Re: Re: Re: Mustang GT vs Dodge Stealth

Look at mags that specialize in Mustangs. I think 5.0 Mustang ran very similar times to what MM&FF did. What they ran is FACT.

Re: Re: Mustang GT vs Dodge Stealth

I am not saying what people run. How hard is that to comprehend? Its what the car is capable of. Another example:

Matt Monet, owner of many records is one of the best drivers on the planet. The car with one of the records is owned by a guy named Nelson Berrande. Nelson has managed a few 11 second passes in the car. Matt ripped off a 10.75. Driver ability plays a HUGE role.

Re: Re: Mustang GT vs Dodge Stealth

I keep saying what the car is capable of and what it ran in stock form in MM&FF. You keep saying well, it ran this and that in these mags so it cant be a 12 second car. It is in fact a capable 12 second car. If you put the right driver behind the wheel it will pull 12's.
