Leno F1. Are these new to anyone?

http://www.xjjaguar.com/LAcarmeet.html

I posted the link so not to waste anyone's time if they're old.

New for me - and I'm glad to see that the photos are from a very old event or I would have been unhappy to know that I missed out on something recent.

= = = = = =

I was about to make a thread on a new Leno article I found, but if you don't mind, I'll just piggyback the info in here.

Here's a link to the article:

http://www.channel4.com/4car/feature.../jay-leno.html

There's only one photo of his F1 included:

In case you are wondering, the tarp underneath the F1 is part of the Car Capsule that he stores the F1 inside.

There's also a few pics of his LCC Rocket:

Nice find to both of you. Surprisingly there are a lot of articles about his collection and barely even mention the F1 and I think thats kinda weird. Like in an Autoweek article about his collection all they said was like "he also has a McLaren F1." :

You can get a smaller version if you are interested:

http://www.artforall.co.uk/ar-Watts_Le_Mans_1995.htm

I've held a copy in my hands, but they wanted $450 for it and I wasn't willing to pay that much. I'm guessing that Jay's enlarged version was a little bit more than that.

Re: Leno F1. Are these new to anyone?

Man, it would be awsome to meet Jay in real life. People say he isn't just one of those celebrities that seems cool, but ends up being a dick in person. They say that Leno is a genuinely nice guy.

Also, that Car Capsule thing is insane. I have never seen that before.

The website mentions that it can protect against a 5 pound sledgehammer, but if someone really wanted to damage the car, couldn't they just puncture through the PVC?

So it can protect agains a sledgehammer, but is useless against a knife? That doesn't make sense.

A local car repair shop usually has a Ferrari Dino inside one of those car capsules.

I think they are implying that if a 5lb sledgehammer fell on it that it would protect the car, not if someone maliciously wanted to do damage to the car inside the bubble.

Oh, that makes a lot of sense.

I mean where else would buyers hang their sledgehammers, if not directly above their valuable cars.
