VW Golf MK1 Custom WIP
I have recently started working on this MK1 golf. The kit is made by fujimi and it is a very nice kit. The pictures show the type of wheel I plan to use. I wanted some advice on which of the two grills I should use. The first pic shows the black with red trim grill with no VW emblem. The seond grill is painted blue to match the body and has a vw emblem. Any comments or ideas are welcome.
Thanks for looking!

Re: VW Golf MK1 Custom WIP
I like the 2 tone youve got going there! Man... I need to get one of these kits!!! Anyways.... personally, i love the dual rounds with the red trim. So Id say go with the first pic setup! BTW.... what are those wheels from?

Re: VW Golf MK1 Custom WIP
The wheels are from Aoshima's old 'S' Parts lineup. I can't remember the name of the wheels. I didn't like the tires that came with them so I decided to use pegasus tires.

Re: VW Golf MK1 Custom WIP
BTW...this is the kit I used. It does come with the extra bodykit pieces even though it doesn't show it on the box.

Ah yes, the reissue form Fujimi.
Does the kit inculde the steel wheels it shows on the box art?

Re: VW Golf MK1 Custom WIP
Thanks for the comments.
RallyFanatic: Yes it does come with the steel wheels on the box. In fact it comes with two different sets of wheels and one set of tires. However, the wheels are very small in diameter. They look to be right for the stock version but way out of place for a custom golf. gtirob01: Thanks for pointing out that kit! I have just put in an order for it. I love golfs, especially the MK1 and MKII.

Re: VW Golf MK1 Custom WIP
Okay, I did a little surfing and I found an interior I kinda liked. Let me know if you think this would look good or if you have any other ideas.

I think that interior goes perfect with the exterior color scheme you have going!

Re: VW Golf MK1 Custom WIP
I prefer the colormatching grill rather tahn the red and black one. although the dual rounds look better to me.

Re: VW Golf MK1 Custom WIP
So, I decided I'm going to use the racing style seats that came with RM's ford focus tuner kit for this golf. I will try to paint them in the simioar colors to the interior pic above. I just have to get some blue and grey paint first (all I have is gloss right now). I might try flocking but I haven't decided for sure.
