Where did you hook your remote starter switch? Right down at the starter? To find the relay, follow the large cable part of the positive battery cable. Should be either close to the battery or on the firewall.

Re: starter relay location? 95 taurus
yes , i hooked it up down at the starter.
where im at now...changed the ignition switch and it worked, i heard the relay clicking, jump started it and it worked, but... i turned it off and it wont start again, tried to jump it and no luck. im suspecting the key cylinder in the stearing column, it was a little loose when i checked it what do you think? |

Re: starter relay location? 95 taurus
I would say a little troubleshooting needs to be done. Hook up your remote starter switch, one end on the positive battery cable end that hooks on the relay, the other end on a small terminal on the relay. That small terminal should be the one that has a wire hooked to it that comes from the ignition switch. Your remote starter switch should now crank the engine. If it does, now check to see if that wire hooked to the small terminal has power through it when the ignition switch is in the START position. If not and the remote starter cranked the engine, you are not getting power from the ignition switch. It could be the key cylinder.
