Talking AW11 Progress Thread

Here's what I've done so far: the body has been sanded down to remove lines that shouldn't be there and smooth rough edges. The engine intake on the left side was closed which is a big no-no. Opening it is tricky with the vents and all but I managed to get a good clean job done. Guess how....

Sand here until the plastic is really thin. You won't be able to break through for some reason, but you can just punch the holes open with your exacto.

Tidy up with thin strips of sandpaper. Resulting job is very clean.

good job on the side intakes! the model looks look sooo much better.... I wish I had a dremel tool though... I've heard ppl do this with a dremel + sander tip in less than 30 seconds!!

I just used the very same technique on my RX-7 kit for the 'cowl' vents (for lack of a better description.) Man this kit is molded thick, though! :o

MR2 looks super-hot!!!

looks much better with the vents open. Makes you wonder why the manufacturer didn't mould them open
