850ci 850i whats the difference between them?

yep, it's the that little plastic letter ! it's the "CSI" thats different.

NO! I'm sorry but you're all wrong! In late 1993 BMW changed the designation from 850i to 850Ci the 4988cc/300hp V12 staying the same **BUT** only for a few months as in mid-1994 it was replaced with the larger 5379cc/326hp V12! The 850Ci badge stayed the same though.....So if you ever see a 850Ci chances are it's a 5.4 litre car as there are very few 5.0 850Ci's. As for the strict 2-seater 850CSi these all carry a 5576cc-380hp version courtesy of the M department..
