Hello to everybody. I just joined this forum after browsing several builds. What amazing talent around here. I'm sure to pick up a lot hopefully.

Just as I was getting ready to post this build-up, another member posted the same bike. I will build mine as the Colin Edwards version according to the box art. I'm still waiting to receive the upgrade set, but I slowly started.

I have built the frame and engine block and shot the first coat of primer. More updates soon.

Ooomph, getting the head start on me, i'll try to keep up. I got my tank joint seams glue/filled/sanded smooth and exhaust system primered up. Hopefully I can set up the engine tonight.

First of all, welcome to AF! And you seem to be a guy in my taste as you start off in the bike section ;-) You've chosen a very nice bike as well. I'll follow you're build so get moving :-)

It's funny how we approach a project in different ways. I usually follow the instructions point to point without skipping around too much. I also - for the most part - clean all parts first and prime everything together. Painting is also done in batches so the need to use the same color over and over is minimal.

For this build, I have painted all engine parts Tamiya X-18 acrylic. I prefer a black base for metallics and I think they look better that way. I also started working on all body parts, but I'm yet to start sanding the seams. That will be for another day.

the engine was painted using various Alclad paints and detailed with an enamel wash.

I then went on to detail up the frame... I tried to use the pantyhose method for the CF.

Yeah! the engine looks very realistic how i always say i think that on my next bikes i should use alclad paints

Welcome, nice to see you have joined up to share your talent.

Engine and frame are looking great so far. If it turns out like the other bikes you have built, it should be fantastic.

Thanks for the welcome Dave... and for the quick shipping as usual. Not sure how far I will take this one... time will tell.

EDIT:... Tack so mycket Joel.... it's hard not to give it a try with so many awesome builds around here.

fantastic job on the engine! I like the Alclad treatment. I'm stick fussing over my tail and doing some primering here and there. I got a lot to catch up to you.

I started working on the tank and tail section, sanding the seams. Once I got them sanded smooth finishing off with a tri-grit, I brushed some Mr. Surfacer 500 to check the work. I love that stuff even though the fumes are bad.

I then proceeded to spray a few coats of Tamiya Grey Primer to check the overall appearance. I still need to sand a bit, but it's close.
