Valuable info on the SXC-W41

I have talked to a man who retired as a GM race mechanic. He was very familiar to the SCX cars. He knew every nut and bolt in them. The best advice he told me was install a rev. limiter to 1,000 below stock. 2 reasons, one I found the hard way. First is the oil pressure is not sufficiant to oil number 4 main bearing at such rpms, yes I spun one. Second the team also found that they turned better times on the track by doing this. Anyone with mechanical questions on these cars may ask away. I should be able to help.

Re: Valuable info on the SXC-W41

Thanks for the info! I recently bought a 92 SCX W41 and just got done replacing the head. have about 300 miles on it since the new head, but I have an issue, I seem to have (2) 13mm bolts left over. There the same 2 bolts that hold on the fuel rail. would you happen to know where they may go? lol
Also my Low coolant light won't go off. there is plenty of coolant and the heater work and the temp never gets past the second line after 100. which is like 160 I think.
Thanks in advance, CC

On the two 13mm bolts, hmm, thats a tuff one, lol. As for the low coolant light check the sensor on the fill tank. There will be a 3 wire simple plug in that is bad for getting corroded from spilling fluids on it during refill. Try taking the connection apart and snaping it back together.

What is the stock casting number on the cylinder head on a '92 SCX? I have an exhaust manifold glowing bright red and I can't figure out the problem.
