I agree completely. Cutting people off ALWAYS circumvents accidents and is recommended by the NHTSA and the IIHS as a surefire way of teaching bad drivers to be good ones.

But seriously, if someone cuts you off, almost causing an accident (as happened to my family) just dial *11 on your cell and report the bastard. We did, and he ended up with $1900 in tickets.

I'll keep that in mind next time I'm slamming on the brakes trying to avoid dumbasses.

BTW: you live in the states Boingo?

BTW2: an X5 was riding my ass yesterday on the freeway at 75mph.

Um, loosely defined, yes. Utah. Not that I'll admit it, though.

Call in the h.p. and tell them the guy was tailgating. I had a jerk in an Altima 3 ft off my bumper at 75 once, and called the h.p. on him. They caught up to him as he was tailgating someone else, speeding, and swerving in and out of traffic w/out signalling.
Tickets:
Reckless driving (about $400)
Not signalling ($150 or something)
Speeding 15+mph in excess of the limit (about $200)
I didn't even have to give a statement.

A tip: when giving your statement to the cops, make sure you don't show any agression to the other driver, just worry/dismay/incredulity. Both examples I've given, the offending driver was still acting very agressive after being pulled over.

Think about it: If the cop is listening to two people, and one of them is calm and reasonable but shaken, and the other is threatening to beat up the shaken guy, which person looks like the speeding tailgating agressive driver?

BTW, I visited Seattle last Oct., and it was beautiful.

Arrow BMW stereotypes

Hello.
I was just posting a reply to all those who stereotype us BMW drivers as "assholes". NO NO...that is ENTIRELY NOT true at all. I'll tell you what is true...is the attitude WE get off non-BMW drivers!!! I am 19 and since I was 16 owned two new BMW's...one convertible and now a coupe. LISTEN TO THIS...the other day I was in a car wash (self service) and some guys vacuming their truck throws firecrackers in the stall! YES LIGHTED FIRECRACKERS. AND...how about this...going down the road and having other people give you the finger, or look at you like your some kind of alien. I mean it...I don't know if its jealousy or what...but it is ABSOLUTLEY NOT CALLED FOR. The first BMW was white with tan interior and BMW chrome rims...a very flashy car, so I decided to go for another one to see if attitudes change. I now have a new black BMW coupe with black leather and black tinted windows. Last month...a guy in the city pulled up next to me and gave me the finger and just ran the redlight a jumped on the freeway. He was shocked when I ran it right behind him and speed up to catch him! Pulled up right beside his drivers door (now running about 110 mph)...he knew there was no way of out-running me. THEN (being the BMW jerk that most people pre-determine) rolled down my window and showed the driver of the truck a toy of mine. After that...he ran completely off the freeway down into some bushes!!! SO let that be a lesson...IM NOT THE ONLY ONE OUT THERE. Lets all respect each other on the roads!

I dunno- it'd be a damn compromising position when driving- pulling dildo out of ass and then flash it= dangerous. Anyway BMWCruzer- you just sound like another spoilt BMW brat

So far nobody cares.

I would've been so pissed off, if one of those firecrackers went off near my fine Yugoslavian driving machine! Think about the rediculously small, unnoticeable amount of soot it could have left on it's finely engineered paint!?

Maybe they know you from somewhere else and already don't like you? As for getting stared at like an alien, I get that all time with the Yugo - but you driving a car so boring as a BMW, must in fact be an alien.

What you really need is a ford model T - paint it black!

I'll give him credit for the firecracker thing. I'd be pretty pissed about that.. My question is though, why didn't he just get out his dildo and chase them down?

Re: Are BMW drivers assholes?

Thank you for your post. 9 out of 10 BMW drivers are asshole drivers. I have not yet seen one BMW driver yield or stop for anyone. I drive a service van everyday, and I can prove it. They never let you into the lane even with the signal miles ahead. What's up with that? Sorry to say this. But Yeah... BMW driver are asshole driver.

Re: Are BMW drivers assholes?

Wow, old thread.

I hate to stereotype anyone, but, at leat around here, BMW has the highest lease rate of any major car manufacturer. That is, more than any other make, BMW owners want to own one but cannot afford to buy one.

So, instead of buying a more modest car that fits their budget better, they sacrifice and scrape to make the monthly payment just so they can show-off. And imo, these egocentric, insecure people love to drive like self-centered assholes, too.

That being said, I used to own a BMW, and it got me more admiring looks and comments than anything else (except my GTO). And they are so nice to drive, I would love to have another.

Re: Are BMW drivers assholes?

Oh damn where do i start. I do have to say not ALL BMW drivers are that way. The ex girlfriends dad bought one about 3 months before we broke up and i have to say he was just like any other normal person out there, actually one of the nicer people i have ever met. But he didn't let it get to his head. But i can say this next time a "luxury" car cuts me up, im gonna be ramming a 5600lbs silverado up his tail pipe. Not sure what kind it was but it was a coupe and relatively new, and im by no means a city boy, from the country born and raised and won't ever change it either, drive a 01 silverado 2500hd, not a small truck by no means. Well he decided he wanted the lane i was in so he just kinda took it when we came to a stop at the intersection i put the brush guard about 8 inches from his trunk and just sat there and smiled real big. I finally got next to him and noticed he was talking on his damn phone, so me being the nice guy i am put the back bumper of my truck right about his window, and awkwardly enough thats where the 152db train horn is mounted . Scared the crap out of him thats for sure. Moral of the story is why do luxury car drivers think they own the road, they think they are invincible, well lets see ya put that car in the dirt rectangle with me and my derby car then well see who wins. I just don't get people sometime, i mean yeah i have made a few mistakes on the road a few times but i will actually apologize for it if i see the person again. Lets see you BMW drivers do that. Pull your head out of your richy rich, spoiled a** and realize that your a person just like everyone else on the road, cause on of these days your gonna cut the wrong person off and there either gonna flatten a tire or park on top of your car.

I already drove a BMW 335i fast, but not in an asshole way. I'm very prudent.
